Corporate Responsibility

“Coming together is a beginning, staying together is progress, and working together is success.”
–Henry Ford

w3r believes that finding solutions to our biggest challenges requires new ways of thinking and collaboration from many perspectives. Leading with intention and transparency, we listen to our employees, partners, clients, and communities. We learn from one another. And lead together.

Our approaches are flexible, not formulaic. We follow our customers and support their initiatives. We discover opportunities to involve our customers and consulting partners in our efforts. We also identify and pursue projects on our own.

Each endeavor must align with our goals, our collaborators’ interests, and the common good. By addressing issues in context of big-picture ecosystems, we get more done, engage more people, and touch more lives.

Community Engagement

Making people’s lives better and our communities stronger has been a driving force for w3r since our inception. It’s a calling that motivates our actions inside and outside the office. With the input from and participation of our employees, customers, and consulting partners, we actively work with businesses and organizations to improve access to higher education. Encouraging entrepreneurship and innovation, addressing hunger, supporting research for cures to debilitating diseases, and driving success for other businesses in our communities aligns with our passions and speaks to the heart of our business.

Examples include:

  • Joining the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society to sponsor a fundraising event in Midland, Michigan that raised more than $500,000 for blood cancer research and support of patients and their families
  • Volunteering at the Gleaners Community Food Bank of Detroit to sort and pack food to feed children, families, senior, veterans and other vulnerable members of the community.
  • Fundraising and holiday events to benefit The Children’s Center of Detroit

Diversity Commitment

“In these times of change, it’s more important than ever to create public engagement, cultural awareness, and authentic business scenario conversations based on facts about diversity in business”
– Eric Hardy, President, and CEO, w3r

As a minority-owned IT consulting and data management company, w3r brings to the table diverse and multifaceted people from different backgrounds and life experiences. This helps us unlock unique perspectives and ideas to help our customers reach their goals. Customers who hire us as a diverse supplier are successful when they also embed these principles and practices in their culture.

Organizations that walk the talk on diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging aren’t just acknowledging identity. They’re supporting recruitment, training, and advancement of diverse employees, promoting team problem-solving, and incorporating a range of perspectives to continually improve their operations. By attracting, nurturing, and rewarding top talent from all backgrounds, ethnicities and abilities, these organizations have an edge over their competitors on innovation and profitability.

Social Responsibility

The Edelman Trust Barometer has revealed increasing gaps in the public’s trust of our public and private institutions. For example, those entering adulthood, Gen Z, expect the companies they buy from and work for to be involved in causes that improve the world. With a backdrop of a global pandemic, social inequity and political turbulence, we hear a wake-up call for both public and private organizations to embrace a new way of building trust by balancing competence, transparency and ethical behavior. It’s a mandate for all of us to chart a new path forward.

In 1995, w3r’s founders made a commitment to not only serve the IT industry’s growing needs, but to also increase opportunity, promote equity, and build trust between our business and the communities we live in. With the input and support of our employees, partners, and clients, that commitment is stronger than ever. During the past few years, we have:

  • Partnered with a Dallas client in a cooperative event to recruit talent to consider employment at the city’s new Innovation Center
  • Provided scholarships to promising students in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) fields in partnership with the Chaldean Chamber of Commerce and the Michigan Black Chamber of Commerce/National Business League
  • Sponsored Detroit Startup week to support the city’s new entrepreneurs
  • Sponsored Hacking With The Homies Developer Conference
