Award-winning consulting firm helps create jobs, support employers with new centrally located office.
SOUTHFIELD – w3r Consulting, a national leader in technology consulting, is pleased to announce the official opening of its new World Headquarters in the 1000 Town Center in Southfield, Michigan. The firm, which operates in five states with 250 employees, provides information technology staffing support to national industry leaders, and through employee placement, creates jobs centered in the Midwest and across the country. w3r will host a private ribbon cutting for clients, employees, family, friends, and a number of elected officials on Tuesday, February 19 at 4:30 pm. This event is open to the press.
“w3r is proud to bring its headquarters and workforce to our new space in Southfield,” said Eric Hardy, w3r C.E.O. and Chairman of the Michigan Black Chamber of Commerce. “We are a growing brand, but we place a high priority on building community and giving back, and we believe Southfield is a city that also emphasizes our sense of ‘community.’ As this city grows we hope to grow with it, and that this move encourages the development of w3r as a national leader,” said Hardy, who also chairs the Community Care Services Board for Henry Ford Health System.
w3r is an award-winning firm that has been recognized at the local and national level for its accomplishments. The company has been named an Inc. 5000 Fastest Growing Private Companies for the last five years. It has been voted one of Metropolitan Detroit’s 101 Best and Brightest Companies to Work For annually since 2007. Last year the company was recognized by Crain’s as one of the “Largest Minority Companies” ranked #21 with $25 million USD in sales. w3r was recognized as an Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year in 2008 and 2009, and has been recognized multiple times by clients for achievement in its field, including Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan.
“w3r is at home in Southfield,” said Keith Echols, w3r Executive Vice President and President of the Southfield Black Chamber of Commerce. “We believe, first and foremost, that we are here to support our clients, but beyond that we have an important role to play in rebuilding Michigan and leading the state forward through entrepreneurship. Having our headquarters in Southfield allows us to be right in the middle of all of the redevelopment going on, and to play a role in the future of both our urban and suburban neighbors,” said Echols.
The company’s success is the result of a college friendship between Hardy and Patrick Tomina, w3r C.F.O and member of the Chaldean American Chamber of Commerce. The pair of engineers met and grew close at the University of Michigan, and saw a moment of tremendous opportunity in the field of information technology. Two years into their business relationship and company development, Echols joined their team and w3r Consulting was formed. Moving forward, they developed a corporate structure built on trust, dedication, service, reliability, and innovation, and have achieved as a result.
